Friday Searches!
Friday, September 28th, 2012
While you are reading this I’m probably sky high in the air on my way to Ohio-or not since the flight is only an hour long. There’s only one reason you guys come here on Friday and that’s for some Friday Searches!
- Mri for large people (I’ve wondered about this too.)
- 6 weeks of elliptical use (Welcome to my life.)
- Blog lindy “hunter boots” outfit (Hmm?)
- Call me and i love justin bieber (What’s your number?)
- Cute sleeping things (Clearly me when I’m sleeping.)
- Every guy would like to go to the gym with her! (Again, this is clearly about me.)
- Happy birthday backstreet boys (Everyday on my blog is the BSB birthday.)
- Puff daddy is a illuminati (That’s an interesting theory…)
- You are awesome friend (I know.)
Another week down in the ole books.
Have a fabulous weekend and you know you have to tell me your plans….
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

A Spinning Experience
Wednesday, September 26th, 2012
Last night I had my first spinning experience. I’ve been meaning to try spinning for just about ever now but never got around to it. I love working out and I love group fitness classes and I especially love a first-class-for- free deal so I was super excited to try out Flywheel.
Because I can’t do anything by myself, I begged Linds to come for me to watch and copy the entire class so I looked like I knew what I was doing. I don’t think it worked because I didn’t know how to do anything…
People, the studio is seriously SO cool. FlyWheel is possibly the hippest fitness studio I’ve ever been too. There’s music blasting and the classes are done in the dark which I thought was awesome (especially since it prevented me from being super competitive in class) I told Linds I felt like I was going to DA CLUB. Let me make this clear: this was not da club.
The class itself was pretty challenging but the energy was so high and the instructor was so awesome (I left wanting to marry her) that the entire class flew by. Sprints, hills and arm-work were all incorporated into a jam-packed 45 minutes and I left a sweaty mess. Having a sweatfest in another Chicaogo studio can be checked off my list.
To be honest, I didn’t fall in love with spinning. Don’t get me wrong, I had a lot of fun and would go to a class every now and then but it probably isn’t the thing for me (and it’s super expensive). However, if you do love spinning I feel like Flywheel is probably the best studio to go because it really is DA BOMB. My favorite part about the place was it let you pick a name to show your progress on the screen in the front of the class. I picked Voldemort and Linds picked Dumbledore. Every time our names were on the screen I cracked up (and if you’re wondering Dumbledore won, ugh). I would definitively recommend at least giving it a try, especially if you go with a friend!
Speaking of friends, did you know I was friends with Santa Claus? I didn’t either but apparently Linds has been moonlighting as Santa Claus after work. Do you see that bag??! Apparently Christmas is coming early this year.
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!
Do you love spinning??
A Number of Things
Wednesday, September 26th, 2012
1. Friday I’m off to Ohio to visit my little Korean Gem! I’m so excited to be around my BFF for three days straight 24 hours a day. She is going to hate me by the end of the trip and never want to see me again.
2. Did anyone else find E!’s ‘manicam’ during red-carpet Emmy show really weird?
Who came up with that idea? It’s not a good one.
3. This is my new favorite thing ever:
It’ so delicious and I can’t stop drinking it- straight out of the carton.
4. I saw this the other day when walking around Chicago and passed out from excitement:
OMG I can’t wait!
5. Since we are on my favorite topic of Harry Potter, I should probably tell you I’ve bullied some other nerdy bloggers to attend this on Thursday with me:
6. And if all that Harry Potter talk wasn’t excitement enough, this happened:
I think this means I’ve made it! I’M FAMOUS!

My Secret Addiction
Tuesday, September 25th, 2012
You guys know I love reading- it’s my absolute favorite thing to do. In my opinion there’s no better way to spend the day than sitting on the couch with a hot cup of tea while immersed in a book. I love getting attached to the characters and feeling like I’m a part of their lives. I actually feel depressed when I finish a book I really like because I got so attached to the people in the story. (Every time I read through the Harry Potter series I get severely depressed that it’s over and that I’m still not a wizard.)
But I don’t think you realize just how bad of a book hoarder I am…I have a huge problem. I have no patience when it comes to books, if I see a book I want, I buy it. When I’m bored I go to the local used book stores and just buy handfuls of books. Literally….
Do you see all those books (and trust me, I have lots more unread ones too…)? I haven’t read a single one of them (except the Hunger Games which someone got mixed in my unread stack). I especially have an addiction to old used books-the older and smellier the better. After a recent trip to the used book store behind my apartment, I came home with some about-to-fall-apart gems. When I got in the elevator I opened up the books, took a big whiff and said ‘mmm’ the guy behind however said ‘ew that’s disgusting.’ How rude! But honestly, is there any better feeling than reading a book and knowing someone else also held this book and put their time and effort into reading it too? It’s like you’re sharing an experience with a stranger-I know that sounds weird but I like feeling that connection with a fellow book lover I don’t know.
But yes, I have an addiction and no plans to stop. When I offer people to visit my library and pick out a book I don’t think they quite realize, that I literally have hundreds of books stacked around the apartment. Between PartyDog’s film crap and my books our place sometimes looks like an episode of hoarders.
The worst part is, I refuse to get rid of books even after I finish reading them. Unless I absolutely hated the book I feel the need to keep it in case I feel like re-reading it (which I often do in my defense!).
So that’s my biggest addiction, what’s yours? That’s all the nonsense I have for now!
