Friday Searches!

Since there was a lack of post last Friday (it was only the biggest Holiday of the year after all), we have two weeks of Friday Searches to go through!

• Picture of a toothless hillbilly hunter (Do pictures of me count?)
• 4 ankle bones am i a freak (Uhhh?)
• Channing tatum thrusting gif (I would like to see that too.)
• Cheese baguette eaten (I want this. Right now.)
• Glad to be home. i’m so thankful to have spent time with my family (I’m happy for this person!)
• Granolish (Is this a new thing? New word? What is this?)
• I still need this it’s only thursday (??)
• Hermione granger jeans (Is there something special about her jeans that I don’t know about?)
• Lady body building large pics (How large are we talking?)

Weekend plans?!

A Number of Things

1. I’m not great with leftovers. I tend to forget they are there and remember about them a few weeks later.  I’m trying to be better about my Thanksgiving day leftovers though.  Aka I throw everything on top of a salad and call it a day.

With lots of parmesan cheese of course.

2. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to leave Chicago because that would mean leaving Rick Bayless. God forbid I go a weekend without eating at one of his restaurants.

It’s almost embarrassing how often we eat Rick Bayless. Almost being the key word here because if I had it my way, I would eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day.

3.  I bought 4 pairs of pants for myself on Black Friday.  I never have that kind of luck so I figured I would buy every pair that fit me.  Except I now own 3 more pairs of black skinny jeans/jeggings. I considered taking a pair back but then I remembered that black is pretty much the only color I wear. And that jeggings are amazing.

4. It’s only Thursday and I’ve had 2 girls-only nights this week.  The first being a super fancy date:

The second being a BYOB sushi date:

Both so needed, and so fun.

5. I think based on Thanksgiving and the amount of food and wine consumed thus far this week, wearing my skinny jeans is going to have to go on hold….

Not my jeggings though-that’s the beauty of them!

Oh Christmas Tree

In case you haven’t noticed, PartyDog rarely makes an appearance on this blog. For some reason unknown to me, the guy hates being in pictures. I know, weird right? When it comes to Christmas however, I can always bully him into taking a picture in-front of our Christmas tree together.

So, I told PartyDog I wanted a funny picture because I mean come on, we’re hilarious so it only makes sense.

And this is what happened.

Picture 1:  The longest arms in the entire world appear.

First of all, I tell PartyDog to do something funny and his default action is bunny ears? And secondly,  my arms quite possibly span the entire length of my apartment. Have you ever seen such weirdly long and gangly arms?

Picture 2: PartyDog likes to get down.

At this point, I told Max to do something better than bunny ears and this is what he comes up with.  I didn’t know the guy liked to get down.  Does he not look like he’s about to get low? He’s even got a little duck face going on.

Picture 3: Strongman always wins.

We’ve never looked better that’s for sure.

And this was my only option because PartyDog had HAD it at this point. Attempting to take a picture 3 times is his breaking point so between the 3 options I have, this last one will have to do.

Whatever PartyDog, this Christmas card will be way better anywayz:

An Amazing Black Friday

Oh my word.  I think I’m still exhausted from Black Friday.  It was that magical.

I set my alarm to go off at 4:30AM but my body was ready to go at 4:00- so I got up, showered threw on my Nike’s and was out the door by 4:20.

Obviously I was heading straight to Macy’s which is always my first stop on this beautiful holiday.  The weather at 4:30 actually wasn’t too bad, it felt nice and crisp and woke me right up which is important considering the long day I had ahead of me.

I did my research (like a good girl) the night before to map out my route. I fully believe that in order to not murder anyone on Black Friday and to have an enjoyable/successful trip you need to have a plan of attack.

My plan was to head South on State Street, cover the stores on one side, loop back around to buy-out the stores heading North on State Street, drop off my bags at home, head North on Michigan Ave and end my day covering the stores leading back home.

And that’s exactly what I did. Here’s how it went down:

• Macy’s #1 (I live between two 10 story Macy’s….)
• Tj Maxx (I just couldn’t walk by without going in…)
• Baker’s
• Foot Locker
• Barnes and Noble (WHICH WASN’T OPEN YET! What kind of store doesn’t open till 9AM on BF?!)
• Ulta
• Nordstrom Rack (Again couldn’t resist.)
• Steve Madden
• Old Navy

BAG DROP OFF AT HOME!

• Gap
• The Limited
• Macy’s #2
• Finish Line
• Akira
• Zara

4:30 really is the best time to go out. Stores open at midnight which means they are crazy right when they open and then they get busy again around 9:00/10:00 because people decide to go out once they wake-up.  4:30 AM however the stores are DEAD because no one is stupid enough to set their alarm to go shopping that early. It’s amazing. I actually had one lady at Macy’s beg for me to let her help me pick out a sweater so she had something to do. Clearly I said yes- my own personal shopper on BF? Yes please.

Another succesful Black Friday in the books. Already planning for next year!
