A Number of Things

1. When Brj and Madeline were visiting last week I got to eat Rick Bayless twice in the span of two days. It was amazing. I love them that much more now.

2.  Speaking of things I love, Macy’s has been entirely decorated for Christmas since November 1.  Each time I go in, I consider never leaving.

3. And since we’re on the subject of Brj and Madeline, when we went on our beer tour, Max’s souvenir beer glass was wrapped in this:

4.  This appeared in the latest issue of Bon Appetite:

Can’t wait to start ordering ants at restaurants.

5. I accidentally  put one of my new sweaters in the dryer. Did I mention it was my new favorite shirt and $50.00? Ugh.

6. When I was in Orlando I was lucky enough to pee in the most inspiring bathroom of all time:

Don’t you love seeing a reflection of me in a bathroom stall? I’m sure the other people in the bathroom were wondering what was going on when they kept hearing the shutter sound on my phone go off while I was in the stall.

7.  FINALLY People Magazine got it right!

When this was announced on the local Chicago news this morning, (hey, it’s big news) I screamed “WOOHOO!” which I’m sure PartyDog appreciated.

I can die happy.

That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

I need to go to Macy’s. I was in Walgreens on Monday and got all giddy over the Christmas decorations they were selling (the fact that it was snowing-ish at the time probably helped my enthusiasm), so I can only imagine full of Christmas magic Macy’s must be right now.

Hmm Rick. And will your sweater fit me? I could probably help you feel better about shrinking it… : )

So when I was in Costa Rica in 8th grade we were hiking through the rain forest and our guide stopped us and had us eat termites. It was pretty gross but we were all “we’re so cool, we’re not afraid of eating termites” and tried them. It was minty?? Not sure what ants taste like though.

Shrinking clothes is the story of my life. My apartment dryers shrink everything short so I’ve started hang drying all of my favorite clothes. Nothing in my apartment that can substitute for a clothesline is safe on laundry day!

Usually it’s obscenities plastered all over public bathrooms. I’d be snapping pics too if I came across this stall…very cute!

So how many ants would you need to eat at a time? Do you eat them by the spoonful? I’m intrigued. I’ve been avoiding shopping because I am not ready for Christmas yet (and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday). You can call me Scrooge, everyone in my family already does.

I often take pics of fun messages in bathrooms, too. Couldn’t decide how disturbing this was. Now I feel validated.

Also, the worst feeling is knowing you did it as soon as you hear the dryer buzz. That “oh shit” feeling… ugh… the worst.

Channing Tatum should be elected sexiest man of the year for the next 10 years! I love walking down state street near Macy’s and seeing all of the pretty lights

I love how the bottom floor of Macy’s becomes holiday central! Did you go the restaurant to see the huge tree?

That bathroom should be in that sticky note book… what is it? Operation Beautiful?

LOL! Too funny that Channing is #1! I am still waiting for GI Joe 2.

So I’m gonna go ahead and say it – Channing Tatum…really??? I was rooting for Ryan Gosling. He stole me heart many many years ago and has yet to return it.
