Back to RPM

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 8:15 am, by Kelsey

I know I’ve blogged about RPM before, but I’m about to do it again now- deal with it.  Brj and Madeline are huge foodies so RPM (other than XOCO) was the only restaurant on my list that required their attendance.  It’s good yo.

We started with a bottle of wine:

You know what’s sad? Realizing you ordered a wine that you buy at home and you’re paying more than double the price.   This particular wine is referred to as the ‘stick wine’ because we only recognize it for the stick on the bottle. It’s sold for under $15.00 in liquor stores, we paid $38.00 for it at RPM.  The beauty of eating out.

Get ready, some incredible photographs are about to happen.

Post- wine we ordered the homemade ricotta cheese and bread starter. Bread + homemade cheese = WINNING.

Also, 4 pieces of bread for 4 people = 1 piece of bread each = me being offended.  Obviously more bread was ordered because that cheese needed to be placed on some and put into my mouth. So good.

Next came out the zucchini frittis. We got these last time and I forgot that they are basically crack. I don’t know how they make them but they are so buttery and delicious. I’m fairly certain they are calorie free, negative calories maybe.

Next up was the baby pepperoni pizza.

Tastes like regular pizza, except mini-very mini.

My brother holding a tiny piece of pizza for me to take a picture was not quite as amusing for him as it was for me. Whateves Brj.

The main course:

Carbonara on the left, regular on the right- both delicious in my face.  But people, the star of the show went to the brussel sprouts you can barely see in the back of the the picture. Sadly I didn’t take a picture of just the sprouts but Madeline and I Hunger Gamed it out over those. So amazingly good.

Another delicious dinner at RPM restaurant and the best part is we had enough money in gift certificates that the leftover bill was only $30.00!  I love deals.

That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

Tell me about an awesome meal you’ve had lately!

I have always wanted to go to RPM and looks like your enjoyed it. I think the latest meal that I have enjoyed was the dish I made for the book club. Yes I am a little conceited but I loved the textures.

I need to try those brussel sprouts. I haven’t been anywhere lately that has blown my mind. We have a dinner res this weekend, so maybe it will be a winner.

I’ve never been to RPM, it looks delicious!

How ridiculously small is that piece of pizza too. That’s so silly.

The most awesome meal I’ve had lately has to be brunch at Frontera. Rick is a genius!

I haven’t been out to a restaurant in a really, really long time, though I did have a pretty phenomenal bowl of chili and slice of cornbread made by yours truly last night (fine, fine, the cornbread came was essentially made by Trader Joe’s. I don’t have time for cornbread-from-scratch business). I also had a great sub from this hole-in-the-wall sub shop in my college town on Saturday…but that doesn’t quite compare to RPM haha.

My friend Laura has been up a few times from St. Louis and is demanding we go here at some point. Waiting for a special occasion… because I tend to fall more towards a BYOB and stuff your face in 20 lbs of thai food for $10 kind of gal.

That pizza is cracking me UP. I saw him holding the little baby piece and was like “WHAT?!”. So funny! I wonder if every restaurant marks up wine like that!!
