Schiller Chiller!

Posted on December 4, 2012 at 7:10 am, by Kelsey

Remember when I wouldn’t shut-up about the Thriller in Schiller race I ran a month ago? Well on Saturday I ran my second race with Muddy Monk and it was just as fun!

Erin was waiting in the longest porta-potty line ever so she missed this picture-but I cropped her in so it doesn’t really matter. Anyway, this race was the Schiller Chiller 5/10K and took place in the trails somewhere about 30 minutes from the city. Thankfully the weather was BEAUTIFUL so I was able to run it. (You know I don’t run in the cold.) My tiny friend Kim and I ran the 5K while the rest of my peeps ran opted to run the 10K.

So gigantic my friends barely make it in my pictures-wonderful.

We had so much fun running the race and spent most of the time chatting and catching up. At one point, we even met up with our 10K friendies who looked a little less excited than we did:

But they zoomed right  past us since we were too busy worrying about posing for all the cameras and chatting about celebrity gossip.

The race was a total blast! I loved the course and the chill vibe of the entire thing. For someone who’s injured and can rarely run, I try to focus on making each run super fun which is why I love the Muddy Monk races. They have a small-town vibe and the races are through the woods which means there’s an adventure waiting for you at each corner. The course distances were a little off this time (5K was actually 3.5 and 10K was 5.2?) but if you’re just participating to have fun, this is definitely the race for you.

The best part about Muddy Monk races?  The fees are low ($25.00!), there’s an after-party AND all the race photos are free online! How awesome is that? I love that they are free because I was able to finally find my race photo doppleganger…

I’m not even joking, when I was going through the race photos, whenever I saw that guy, I thought it was me.

This dude is amazing:

I really enjoyed going through the race pictures as you can see. But, but but! I saved the best picture for last…

I am the worst.

A few kinks to work out for the next race but Muddy Monk does an awesome job with these trail races and I can’t wait to do some in 2013! Check out their upcoming races HERE and come run them with ME!

Thanks for the complimentary entry Muddy Monk and for capturing my true classiness in all your pics!

That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

I love your pose in that first picture. I die every time I see it!

Also love that man. If we see him at another Muddy Monk race, you’ll have to ask for a picture with him :) .

I’m definitely not a fan of cold weather running, either. So why am I running with everyone outside in a few weeks? Someone explain this to me… lol

I don’t know if I’ve commented and said this before, but I love reading your blog so much! I have followed you via bloglovin for a week or so and your posts make me smile. This one was so lovely and positive, you look like you’re having a blast. Your attitude towards running and life in general is very inspiring :) I kind of want to come run with you, especially after seeing your race photos (in mine I look like I want to deck the photographer always!)

This has nothing to do with Thriller Schiller, but I was thinking of you yesterday. I went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and I remembered your post a while back from when you were there. It was a blast!
