Weekend Recap
I had a lovely friend-filled weekend. Is there any better way to spend a weekend? Didn’t think so.
I had off Friday which of course meant I spent the day walking around, pretending I still had some Christmas shopping to do-which I don’t but shopped anyway. After some shopping and some reading, PartyDog and I realized we hadn’t been to Second City in like 6 hours so naturally we had to go to a show. We went to a show called The Parent Crap that our friend Adithi was in!
When we got home from the show I was so tired that my dinner consisted of half a baguette thrown in the oven and then stuffed in my face. We had some brie cheese but it was in the fridge and I can only eat it at room temperature so I opted for just bread. #Cleaneats.
Saturday I woke up and drove my posse to run the Schiller Chiller 5/10K (more on that later!). We had a blast!
Post-race we came back and showered and got ready at my apartment prom-style: 4 girls using 1 bathroom and we STILL somehow made it to book club on time.
Speaking of book club, it was super fun and so beautiful. Check this out:
Sierra is amazing and I tried to hide in her house and stay there forever but it didn’t work out. Whatever, at least I left with a present thanks to our white elephant game.
Katie was the lucky one since she left with this:
Angel soap: what every 20 something year-old girl wants.
That was clearly the best $4.99 I’ve ever spent. You’re welcome Katie.
Another month, another fun book club. I was bad this month and didn’t read the book but next month we’ll be reading HeartSick by Chelsea Cain if you want to read along with us!
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!
Tell me the best gift you’ve gotten from a gift exchange!

I love Second City! Just went there about a month ago and wondered why I don’t go to their shows more often…

Can we do white elephant at every book club? Post-Christmas would be fun, right?
Next time Lennie is out of town, we are doing girls night (no hiding required)

I really want to go to the holiday show at Second City so maybe we should plan something. We’ll see, I ALWAYS say I want to go but definitely haven’t made it yet.
Jealous about the angel soap!

I got this really awesome book about how to teach my future children about hemophilia at a gift exchange once! It’s really just about everything I was looking for in a coffee table book, so I was super stoked.

I want to live out your weekend with you!! A race AND a white elephant gift swap = the best.

I’ve done a lot of white elephant exchanges – with family, friends and at work. I think the best gifts I end up with are always booze. Last year I got a 6-pack of home brewed beer. The best part was, I stole it from my brother.
