Loop Looks to the Rescue

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 7:11 am, by Kelsey

I’m not exactly into fashion, but I love to shop.  Like I really love shopping.  I have this habit of wearing the same outfits over and over again and I get bored which leads me to going out and buying more clothes-which is the last thing I need.  So I did something about it. I called Loop Looks.

I knew Erin did closet consultations but I never in a million years thought that it would be as helpful as it was!  I really liked her approach-she came in, sat on my bed and said, “Ok I want you to pull out anything you only wear 1 way or anything you hardly ever wear,” which was basically half my closet because I pretty much wear black- every, single day.  I wear so much black that when I actually wear color, my coworkers make a point of telling me I don’t look like I’m going to a funeral that day.

After she makes some outfits out of the items you hardly wear, the girl just goes for it.  The way her brain works is fascinating to me.  She was pulling stuff out of my closet left and right and pairing things that I had no idea even matched.  I found myself saying ‘huh, I would have never thought to match those together” after each and every outfit.  Which would lead Erin to ask me, ‘well how did you wear this then?” and I answered every time ‘with a black shirt.”

But alas Loop Looks came to my rescue! And the best part is, she made me excited about my clothes instead of me constantly thinking about the next time I could go buy more clothes. She also scolded me for not understanding how to tuck shirts into skirts.  I’m going to try to do that…but I just don’t understand how….

I of course am not showing you all the outfits Erin came up because there are SO many more.  If you live in the Chicago area, do yourself a favor and demand she come do a closet consultation for you! She may even say it’s ok to wear a tiny little top hat with every outfit… (which she totally gave me the OK for!)

Thanks Loop Looks for helping me out and bringing some color into my life!

That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

I love all of the combinations that she picked out for you! I especially love those gold earrings with black enamel! I need to do a closet purge. Big Time!

Erin’s going to teach me how to dress myself in a couple of weeks, and I’m SO stoked. I’ve heard nothing but good things about her closet consultations, and goodness knows my closet could use some serious consulting.

Also I was at a thing on Saturday and saw someone wearing a tiny top hat. It made me think of you :P

Yay!! I’m so happy you’re so excited! My day job isn’t so fulfilling so doing this for people gives me that spark I need in my life. And, yes, I think we need to make tiny top hats a thing for sure.
