Question For Ya {4}….
For the longest time I thought Yelp was just a website for people to go whine about a bad meal, haircut or service. That was until I started using it and I’ve now decided Yelp is awesome.
I personally only write a review on Yelp if I’ve had an outstanding experience somewhere. I don’t do bad reviews (I’m in the mind set that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all) but I do appreciate people who are honest. And by honest I don’t mean “THIS IS THE WORST PLACE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!!!” but the ones that are actual honest reviews instead of some crazy person going nuts on Yelp.
So here’s my question for you this week:
Do you Yelp? Do you write reviews or just read them??
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

I love Yelp!!! I literally found everything on Yelp when I first moved to Chicago. I rarely write my own reviews though. I really should start!

I was all about Yelp when I lived in the city. Now, not so much. I do love looking at reviews when in different cities to try and get a feel for where we should go to eat.

Me too- I just pull up the app and see what’s good nearby!

OMG that sign is hilarious. I occasionally read and write reviews. I feel like I need to visit a place at least twice before I should write a review. And I try to be honest but not stupid. Some people are just so dramatic. I don’t get it. So I do take the reviews that I read with a grain of salt. Because when it comes to food, I am pretty easy to please.

How funny is that sign? I have a visit twice rule too before I review!

I LOVE Yelp. I don’t go out to eat too often, but when someone suggests going out to dinner my first resource is always Yelp. There are SO many places to eat in the city and while wandering up and down the street trying to find a restaurant that looks good is always an option, if I need to make reservations or whatever it’s super helpful to be able to be able to search for what I’m looking for by neighborhood, price, cuisine, etc. I probably put a *little* too much stock in reviews, since in general I think people only speak their mind when they have a strong opinion (whether that be “OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE EVERYONE NEEDS TO EAT HERE DAILY” or “This is literally the worst restaurant I’ve ever set foot in”), but it’s still nice to see what a variety of people think about something to give me an idea of what to expect.

I used to write yelp reviews but since blogging I haven’t been doing it as often. I really should though. I do check it before going to restaurants though, it’s a good way to figure out what to order.

Since I’m new to Chicago I have been using Yelp like it’s my job. I wrote reviews for several places also. I really trust other people’s opinions and photos so I always go to Yelp. Download the app also so you can use it on the go.

I don’t use Yelp, but know what it is! And have seen other people’s reviews get made fun of, on it. LOL.

I just registered my yelp account this past weekend!
I read reviews all the time and I want to start writing some reviews. I really value what others have to say about a place, even if the review is a little crazy!!

I am newly obsessed with Yelp reviews and probably spend far too much time perfecting them. Whatever. It helps me vent. It’s practically therapy!

I use Yelp when I want to find a new restaurant. I don’t always leave reviews, though. Especially for places where they have your name! Like salons or spas.

I’m addicted to Yelp–somehow, I can easily write an essay for a review while suffering writer’s block for a real assignment for school. East Bay Elite pride! Woot woot!

I really like using Yelp! Especially since we just moved to a new town, it’s come in handy so much. I try to write reviews to every new place that I go to, whether it was a bad or a good experience — either way, I’m always honest and try to be as informative as possible.
