Question For Ya {5}…

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 6:06 am, by Kelsey

I take a lot of showers. I’m not type A about much (read: anything) except for my hygiene  If I sweat even one drop, I have to shower (in the summertime I’ve been known to shower 4 times a day…).  The mere thought of getting into bed at night without showering grosses me out…I have all the nastiness from the day on me! (And for all of you wondering if I wash my hair each time that would be a no, the hair I stick to washing  just once a day.)

As you can imagine when you take as many showers as I do, a lot of thinking happens in there.  I would say that 90% of all my blog posts begin in the shower, whether it be just an idea or coming up with actual sentences.  I also just think about a lot in the ole shower-my family, friends, ideas for activities, recipes, outfits to wear etc. etc.  I think my friends have stopped getting creeped out when I say “so I was thinking about you in the shower today.”  It’s not a creep thing for me,  it’s just where I do most of my thinking.

So my question for you this week is:

Where do you do most of your thinking?

I used to do A LOT of thinking in the shower. I once thought if I ever became famous and wanted to write an autobiography/book of my wisdom, I’d entitle it, “Musings from Behind the Shower Curtain.” Showers lately have become a let’s-see-how-fast-I-can-get-in-and-out sort of deal, which isn’t particularly conducive to thinking, but since I spend about two of my 16 waking hours per day commuting, I’ve found that to be an excellent time to think. I do have a tendency to think out loud, though, so I try to keep my thinking limited to when I’m not on the CTA so as to avoid looking *too* crazy :P

I shower ever day but I’m usually in and out in about 5 minutes so I don’t have too much time to think there. I end up doing most of my thinking on my runs… the problem is that I often forget about my genius ideas afterwards. Oops!

LOL! Totally not where I thought this question was headed! I do my thinking when I am running. Lots of it.

And I hate showers! But love baths :)

I do most of my thinking while a) running outside; b) swimming laps; c) on public transportation. It is a good thing I don’t do most of my thinking in the shower… seeing how I shower as little as possible and hate showering.

hmmm. I do a lot of my thinking on the bus. Some while running but usually I’m thinking “keep going, keep going!”

I do most of my thinking while I’m running or biking. But I ran long on Sunday and I don’t know if I can remember a single thing that I was thinking about.

I do most of my thinking on the train on the way to and from work. Half the time is spent reading, and half the time is spent zoning to Pandora…

My bf showers at least twice a day. Sometimes 3x. I keep telling him the reason his hairline is creeping back bc he washes his hair too much.

Jk. I would never tell him that.

No really. I would never ever say that. #somuchtrouble

My brain always seems to be on overdrive as soon as I lay down to go to sleep. So, I guess that’s when I do most of my thinking. Doesn’t help with sleeping, though.

I used to be like that years ago and then I started reading boring short stories before bed and that took care of that..
