A Gr8 Weekend!

Posted on March 11, 2013 at 7:15 am, by Kelsey

You guys, I had the best weekend.  I’m really sad it’s over but the good news is that we can relive it together right now.

Friday was my flex day from work (I have off every other Friday) so I of course had to spend my off day with my girlfriend Katie.  This was the last weekend the Millennium Park ice rink was open so Katie begged me to go with her. I am not a big fan of ice skating but I never turn down a chance to hang out with my red-headed friend.

In case you could’t already guess, I’m awful at ice skating.  I managed to stay out on the ice for a full hour but…I didn’t let go of the railing. Literally.

Don’t let that thumbs-up and smile fool you, I do not enjoy ice skating which lead to me eventually just creepily watch Katie skate around the rink while I hung on the side.  I made a nice friend while I was admiring Katie that spiraled into a weird/creepy exchange resulting in him asking for my advice about his 15 year old daughter coming out of the closet.  Needless to say, I signaled to Katie that we needed to head out now since I have no business giving anyone advice about anything ever.

Of course, we couldn’t be right next to the Bean without taking the obligatory tourist pictures.

And I spent a good amount of time photo-bombing all of Katie’s selfies.

She loved that and the fact I don’t think she actually got any selfies without me in it.

On Saturday I had the amazing Punk the Monk 5K with my friends.  There will be a full report on that tomorrow but I’ll give you a little teaser of the amazing photographs you’re about to see:

Bet your excited to see the rest of these beautiful pictures I took after seeing that one!

After getting home, defrosting and showering, I may have demanded PartyDog take me for some Ricky Bayless food since I haden’t had it in like 14 hours.

Rocks my world, every single time.

And now finally on to Sunday when Kim and I redeemed our Groupon for a BYOB crepe making class at Flip Crepes!

We shared a table with some other ladies who were a blast and enjoyed drinking and crepe making just as much as we did.

Crepes were made.

And devoured.

And now I’m still so full I can barely breath.

But I am sitting here finishing the bottle of wine we somehow didn’t finish at class (I’m writing this Sunday evening, I’m not drinking at 6 AM before work, I promise…). The instructor was nice enough to ‘wrap’  up my $4.99 Trader Joe’s wine I couldn’t dare part with unfinished for me to take home.

Classy as always.

That’s all the nonsense I have for now!

What was the highlight of your weekend??

Um, that crepe-making class sounds like the coolest thing ever. I have no idea how to make crepes, but I’d really love to learn — plus all that food? Seriously. Sign. Me. Up.

My favorite part of this whole post is that your instructor took the time to wrap up your leftover $4.99 wine. #noshame

What a fun weekend! I wanna hear more about the crepe making class… what types of crepes did you make?

I seriously sat on my butt after Spanglish on Saturday and then again on Sunday after my long run. I was totally lazy and it was amazing!

That crepe making class sounds fun. Any crepe making tips that you learned that you can share with those that did not make the class? :-)

Is that…a paper towel in your wine bottle? Love it. Also, the last time I went ice skating it was at Millennium Park and I fell flat on my face. Haven’t been back.

I love making crepes. My son loves stuffing them and then they are too big to even roll up. :)

    Sounds like a great weekend.
