Stuffing My Face
Monday, November 26th, 2012
Good news is I’m still full from Thanksgiving. This year my little elf Em came over to help/keep me company while I did some serious cooking!
I think she wanted to come over early so she could keep me from drinking too much wine before dinner–girl wanted to make sure I was alert and cooking her good food, not food made by someone a bottle of wine in by 12:00.
There’s nothing more I love than drinking wine while cooking. Oh and listening to really good music while doing both.
What, your Thanksgiving day playlist didn’t consist of Good Charlotte too…?
Anyway, after some wine, Good Charlotte and Em making me giggle like a little school girl for a few hours, it was time to eat.
Naturally we had to fufill out duty as bloggers and take some pictures (of ourselves) before we actually allowed anyone to eat.
I also took a picture with PartyDog but it turned out to be the worst picture ever taken by anyone ever. Note to self: make sure boyfriend keeps his eyes open for pictures and never wear horizontal striped shirts on days when lots of pictures are to be taken because you will look 50lbs heavier in 99% of the pictures.
Also, please note the cup Em is holding. That is a Harry Potter Gryffindor cup! Only the best for my house guests…
So, we stuffed our faces, drank wine (mostly me) and had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hope you did too!
What was your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Thankful YO
Wednesday, November 21st, 2012
I figured I would post my Thanksgiving nonsense today since nobody is going to be reading blogs tomorrow on the actual holiday sooo….. Happy Thanksgiving (tomorrow!) to all of my fabulous readers! I hope you know that I love each and every one of you and appreciate that you come back daily to read my busted blog.
This year especially, I am super thankful for everyone and everything. Moving to a new city, finding a job, friends and a way of life is difficult and I try to be thankful everyday that things have turned out well (knock on wood). I’m bummed I won’t be making it home to spend the holiday with my family but they know I miss them terribly and love them to the point of obsession.
So, I’m super thankful that I’ve made some really wonderful friends.
Like the type of friends that I can’t imagine my life without now.

I’m also thankful that I yet again have convinced PartyDog to continue to put up with my nonsense.
I’m beyond happy that I was able to spend some much needed time with my Korean Gem.
And I’m still in awe that I got to be apart of the promotion of an awesome race.
I got to run a few races despite being injured.
I finally got to see California.
And did even more traveling to Wisconsin for an all girls weekend.
And I’m so incredibly thankful that I got to spend lots of time with my family despite living halfway across the country from them.
(My mom doesn’t fancy being in pictures but obviously you know I love my Ma more than I love bread, wine and a cheese (which is hard)).
But what I’m most thankful for this year is the fact that lots of Harry Potter was involved!
Does life get any better?
But wait, it does! I forgot to say how thankful I am for Rick Bayless. He makes me so incredibly happy, especially since my jeans seem to keep getting tighter after each visit to one of his restaurants.
Happy Thanksgiving (tomorrow) friends! I love ya!
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!
What are you thankful for this year?
The Most Important Day of the Year
Monday, November 19th, 2012
We are going to get serious here for a minute because I have something really important to talk to you guys about: Black Friday.
Now when I say I love Black Friday, I mean I really love Black Friday. As far as I’m concerned, Thanksgiving is just Black Friday Eve.
Growing up, my mom and I always went Black Friday shopping together and we pretty much bought all our Christmas presents on this magical day. We had the best time spending ALL DAY going from store to store checking out (and buying) all the deals. While I may not be going home for Thanksgiving, (stupid traveling) I have to hold up the tradition of Black Friday shopping for my Ma (or myself).
To explain to you just how much I looooveee Black Friday…..
- I put money aside from each paycheck into a separate bank account labeled BLACK FRIDAY (starting in January) so I have lots to spend when the day finally arrives.
- I literally do all my Christmas shopping on this glorious day- I do not come home until I’ve completely gotten everything I set out for.
- Whatever money I don’t spend on Christmas presents (once I’ve bought everything I intended to) I spend on myself.
- I go to bed super early on Thanksgiving so I can be up, alert and ready to go around 3:30 AM.
I’m getting excited just typing this post-you have no idea. To say I love buying Christmas presents is a huge understatement. I’m going to toot my own horn here and tell you I’m really good at buying gifts for people. I put in a lot of thought and effort into what I’m going to buy each person and try to purchase something they would really like and/or need which makes BF(Black Friday) super fun for me.
For those of you not as crazy as myself- here are the stores you definitely NEED to check out on BF because they have such awesome deals:
- Kohl’s- This is the only day I ever go to this store. Kohl’s basically gives stuff away on BF.
- Macy’s- Always my first stop because I do 75% of my Christmas shopping here. Great deals and amazing coupons.
- Old Navy- They basically give stuff away too.
Stores to skip?
- Nordstrom Rack- Last year their big thing was a coupon for 40% off one item-um hello that’s not BF worthy.
- Tj Maxx/ Marshalls- They never have BF deals because everything is already on sale. The lines are always crazy crowded so I typically skip these stores all together on BF.
- Banana Republic- I still don’t get how Old Navy has such awesome deals and Banana Republic will have something like 20% off full priced items. Again, not BF worthy.
My list is made, my routes mapped out and all my weight -lifting is sure to come in handy when I’m grabbing stuff out of other people’s hands.
I’m ready.
That’s all the nonsense I have for now!
Do you do Black Friday??
